The Medicare Drug Program

The three plans that are the most popular that I market are:

Humana WalMart Preferred plan which is just $15.10/mo in 2012.  This plan has a $320 deductible and it does not cover "specialty" drugs.  Yes, it has 4 tiers but theirs do not match up with all the other plans.  Make note that "specialty" drugs are those that are the most expensive ones that you will find at your neighborhood drug story. You will also need to note that you must use WalMart Pharmacies to maximize your benefits.

Humana Enhanced is $38.50 in 2012 which is down $7.00 from 2011.  This is the very best plan on the market today.  If your drugs are covered this is the plan you should buy.  You will not have a deductible and if you use their mail order source for your generic drugs you will not even pay a co-pay.

BlueMedicareRx is just $38.00/mo in 2012.  This plan has a $125 deducible for any drugs that are not on their Tier 1 list.  If your drugs are not covered on the Humana Enhanced plan then we will try the BlueMedicareRX.

Medicare D Drug Plans and how we approach the enrollment or change process.

During the initial enrollment period we found that most companies had programs that were hard or impossible to understand.  There was only one that we could consistently use and get "what if" results.  Both BlueMedicareRx and Humana have posted on an internet site a Rx Calculator.  By noting every drug, dosage, and frequency, we could accurately predict the total costs for each month and the year including the cost of the coverage.

In October of each year, we will have the new plans and can discuss them with our clients.  We will begin taking new and change applications on October 15, 2011, the first day that we are legally allowed to do so.  The Open Enrollment period will end December 7, 2011.  We will still need a face-to-face meeting for apps or I can take an application over the phone, then mail you the app for signature.  I guarantee you that I will use the fastest and the most accurate method of submitting applications and changes.

Now apply for BlueMedicre RX on-line with our agency.  Just click the BlueCross and BlueShield page link at left side of the page then click on the link to their web site.  For 2012 enrollments, you may start your app on 10-15-2012 but you only have till 12-7-11 to apply.  Please call us (1-815-626-5751) for information to be mailed to you or for an appointment.

Let us do a comparison for you.
